Sexual Health: Top 3 Apps for Sex & Intimacy

After sorting through hundreds of Apps on the market that are in any way related to sexual health, intimacy, sexual desire, dating, relationships, sexual performance/functioning, fun & games, toys, flirting, and sex education; I found several that stood out in each category. Far too many to cover in one article… However, there were three that definitely stood above the rest when it came to helping couples with rekindling sexual desire, fostering closeness and connection in the bedroom, and learning new and creative ways of exploring sexual thoughts and fantasies.
Pillow (iOS) — This has been described as an App which ‘promises to rescue any sexless marriage.’ It includes: “30+ exercises that playfully work through a variety of fun experiences that rekindle desire, improve communication and make you feel closer. The proven exercises are written and recommended by Therapists, Coaches and Tantra Teachers. This collection of intimacy exercises - ready to start now - can transform your relationship! They’ve curated, tailored and professionally recorded a variety of intimacy exercises that you follow along to in the comfort of your own home, together” (http://pillow.io/). They recommend the App specifically for anyone who wants to strengthen their relationship; renew the spark in their marriage; or reconnect post-baby.
The Pillow App highlights:
—Foreplay extending, intimacy nurturing experiences
—Improved communication and inspired creativity
—Sex positive, female friendly, and designed for all couples
—Follow-along sexual adventures for couples
Juicebox (iOS)—“The better sex and relationship app that puts coaches in the palm of your hand.” As per the app store description: Juicebox connects you to certified love life coaches anonymously. With one of the paid memberships, you can talk to their coaches to get help or advice about sex and relationships. Some topics include relationship arguments, break-ups, performance anxiety, and more! These are real professionals. And they promise to be personalized, action-oriented, convenient, and shame-free. The Juicebox App offers resources including tips, scripts, guides and exercises on a wide variety of topics related to sexual pleasure, health, and relationships. They work with a network of certified relationship and sex life coaches to answer questions or work one-on-one for customized goal plans. The messaging between the user and the experts is secure and encrypted; and you’re paired with an expert who will respond to your question within 24 hours. They state that they work with “men, women, gay, straight, single, married, or anything in-between.” There is a 3-tiered pricing system: Free for the basic app; which includes access to community questions & answers and daily stories and polls. For $2/week, you have access to all community content, daily sex and relationship tips, as well as two guaranteed answers per month from one of team of coaches. For $24/week, unlimited private messaging with daily responses from your coach in Chat; how-to guides for your emotional and physical needs; daily sex and relationship tips; and a live chat with your coach monthly. Kindu (iOS & Android) —This App has garnered a lot of attention for its ability to help anyone who struggles with talking about sexual fantasies, trying new things, or kinky interests. It helps couples ease the anxiety about disclosing sexual thoughts or fantasies by allowing them to go through thousands of “intimate activities” and indicate their level of interest, as: “I like this idea” or “I’m open to this idea” or “Not even on your birthday!” After each downloads the app on their own device, they can invite the other to pair with them in the app. If both partners indicate a “yes” or “maybe” to an idea/activity/fantasy, then it is shared with the other. If one of them doesn’t answer “yes” or “maybe” it is not shared and just “disappears.” They’ll never know…unless you work up the courage and/or decide it’s safe enough to share it with them on your own. It’s up to you…perhaps some delightfully dark fantasies were meant to be taken to the grave. J The Kindu App website states the goal is to “inspire intimacy in a fun and flirty way!” I think they’ve definitely hit the mark! (No pun intended…) There’s plenty more they’ve included, making it fun for couples to keep track of their shared interests, and a tracker to “check off” some of the ones they’ve decided to explore together.
