Hands on Health: Chronic Pain Problem

Written by Ann Wilkinson, P.T.M.S. Posted in Hands on Health .

Q: I am a patient who has recovered from a chronic pain problem. My pain is greatly reduced but my world is upside down. I have lost my career and spouse. My eating habits are terrible and I cannot remember the last time I exercised. I cannot take medication anymore because I developed an ulcer. Where do I go from here?

A: With a patient like you, I would begin with cellular health. How toxic is the body? How educated are you about what you are putting in and how well is everything coming out, elimination, sweat, emotions? You are your physiology and you are not your job or your house or your spouse. Let’s break it down. What are you eating, what are you thinking and how is your spiritual health? Let’s get rid of the poisons whether it is thoughts, foods, situations or old patterns that no longer serve you. You will need to let go of your old diagnosis because you are not that anymore. Taking care of the physical body is very important down to the cellular level. What is this meal that I am eating doing for my body? Am I vitamin deficient from my body working overtime to eliminate the byproducts of medication? Affecting the mental and emotional mind with positive affirmations and seeing yourself completely healed in essential to uplifting your lifestyle. By changing the old tapes and useless messages of failure and getting in touch with who you really are inside bad habits can melt away. Exercise is essential and at first can be personal, getting fresh air, stretching and gently progressing to more vigorous exercises. Someone once told me the way to the soul is through SWEATING, I think of that every time I exercise now. Next, you could progress further and join some social, athletic events as a participant or spectator. Take up a hobby you always dreamed of, be a kid again, be your own parent and treat yourself well. Everyone is entitled to MIRACLES.
